I was listening to Queen's Bohemian Rhapsody a lot when I was taking Electronic Design (I go through phases). The assignment for the final was to create a magazine article. I used the lyrics to Bohemian Rhapsody as the "article" and basically went from there. The entire thing was done solely in Photoshop.

This was taken in my next door neighbor's backyard with my little Canon Digital Elph camera. My neighborhood has a lot of interesting things, so I like to go around and take pictures when the weather is nice. I was able to turn this concept into a personal project for the Fundamentals of Digital Photography. Our personal projects were a series of eight pictures about a particular subject, and I did my neighborhood. This was my favorite picture out of the series.

I'm pretty happy with how this Typography project turned out. It was my first foray into Illustrator, and I'm quite pleased with the results. The assignment was to create a poster advertising conservation, and other than that, there weren't really any requirements. I absolutely love how the starfish turned out, and I like the effect on the "ocean" as well.

This was my final project for Advanced Image Manipulation. Corel Painter was used to create a bunch of different effects on one image, and then all the images were put together and turned into a web page using Fireworks. I love pretty much everything Gwen Stefani does, so she was an obvious choice to work with. Painter is a pretty cool program, and one that I would like to work with more often.

This was another picture I took in my neighborhood (my front yard, to be exact) with my little digital camera. I took this one very beautiful spring day, just because it was nice out and I had my camera. My camera takes excellent pictures outside, but doesn't work well inside, so I almost always take pictures outside on sunny days with it, hence the flower pictures.

This is from Color Theory, allllllll the way back in April of 2004, which seems like a lifetime ago. I can't say I enjoyed mixing colors, laying out pieces of masking tape, painting little triangles, and cutting out pieces of presentation board, but I decided to include this old project for nostalgia's sake.

I'm not the greatest artist in the world, and cutting out little pieces of colored paper is not my idea of a good time. I like foxes, though, and I thought this fox turned out very cute. I especially like the patterned paper I used for the inside of his ears and the flowers. I learned a lot about composition, which was really the point of Fundamentals of Design.

This is a very recent project I did for Digital Imaging and Manipulation. I enjoy the graphic design aspect of web design, but not the graphic design aspect of graphic design. As I've mentioned before, I hate cutting stuff out. My hat goes off to Graphic Design students at this school, because I do not have the patience to bend over a table with an X-acto knife and a ruler and cut stuff out. Obviously, I should keep my day job and not become a graphic designer.
